As a dedicated Counseling Intern at Riversage Family Counseling, I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward wellness. I believe that every individual is unique, resilient, and capable of profound personal growth. Currently I am pursuing a dual degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health at Adams State University. I am gaining hands-on experience in therapeutic techniques, client assessment, and the development of individualized treatment plans.

Throughout my internship, I have honed my skills in active listening, empathy, and evidence-based interventions. My approach is grounded in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions to achieve their personal goals of healing and growth. I am committed to integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring that each client receives personalized and effective support. Therapeutic approaches utilized may include, or are influenced by, but are not limited to, person centered, humanistic, strength-based therapy approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, systemic/family, developmental, culturally sensitive, use of attachment theory, Solution-Focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed. Based on your unique needs, level of comfort, and individualized treatment goals, I may integrate methods and techniques drawn from different schools of thoughts and therapeutic models.

When I’m not immersed in my internship, I cherish time spent with my family. Together we enjoy exploring the beautiful landscapes of Colorado and the Southwest—whether it’s hiking, camping, skiing, or simply soaking in the breathtaking mountain views. These experiences help me stay balanced and connected to both nature and my loved ones. I am excited to contribute to the Riversage team and to collaborate with experienced professionals who share my commitment to fostering positive change and enhancing mental well being for our community.
