“Art can permeate the very deepest part of us, where no words exist.” Eileen Miller

Sometimes life is hard and extra support is needed. Art and ecology therapies can facilitate a gentle way of healing through art and nature. These experiential modalities provide a trauma informed and gentle manor to help reconnect a person’s inner world.

Art therapy is for all ages, and I work with children six and older, adolescents, young adults, and adults in all stages of life. My approach is client centered, non-judgmental and trauma informed. The modalities of therapy I utilize are art therapy, experiential therapy with an ecopsychology approach and sand tray. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or talk therapy designed especially for people who experience emotions very strongly.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado with a Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling from Southwestern College in New Mexico. My most recent experience includes providing services at a residential treatment center for Native American men with addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health problems. Additionally, I have served women and children in a domestic violence center who were recovering from trauma. For nearly 30 years before changing career paths, I was a was a teacher specializing in behavioral health or special education in both Washington state and Kansas.

In my free time, I am a practicing artist. I also enjoy spending time in nature, gardening, working with horses and spending time with my family.
